Williamsburg Host Lions Club

Lions Happenings

The Williamsburg Host Lions Club is active throughout the Williamsburg Community. The club was involved in the College Prep Golf Tour by Marshalling the holes, keeping score and general set up and take down of the signage. Also this summer we hosted the 35th Annual John M. White – Lions International Youth Camp/Exchange. The Williamsburg Host Lions Club hosted 29 Campers from 17 Countries. While in the United States each student is housed by a family in the local area to gain a first-hand look at life in the United States. While here they also visited the Capital as well as another site while touring Washington DC. The purpose is to create a better understanding of the peoples of the world. The home countries of the students include: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Finland, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland, Hungary, USA, Bulgaria, Estonia, Tunisia, Denmark, Russia.

The club also Sponsored the 18th Green at the LPGA Golf Tournament, held Kings Mill Golf Course this past May. Work and no play is not good for any organization, so President Pat Kerr decided to have an indoor picnic at one of the two monthly meetings. Where she identified the Lion with the most expressive Attire!
